Fullstack Job: Senior Fullstack Developer

Who are we?

Machobear Studio is an established tech start-up based in Vancouver. We are the creators of liv.rent, a platform that connects tenants with landlords (check us out at www.liv.rent and in the App store!) We are currently looking for a senior-level full-stack developer to join our team. As a full-stack developer, you will be working on one of our exciting web application projects.

Goal of this position

We are working on more complex features and projects and it is time to support the team with some awesome talent. The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background, a solid understanding of web fundamentals, and a natural curiosity for producing effective solutions. You will come onboard to help us shape the future of our products and team. Someone eager to contribute, think outside the box and challenge us!! We are looking for bigger thinkers to help mentor our juniors and collaborate with our Seniors and to push our ideas forward and be a driving force. Lots of opportunities for individual growth as we believe heavily in trying new technologies and approaches and ensuring our teams skills are up to date

What You'll Be Doing

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and customize high-performing enterprise web and mobile applications in a fast-paced agile environment
• Develop, deploy, and maintain new features for liv.rent and for client-side web projects
• Research, implement and share best development practices with the team
• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle

What You Bring to Us:

• BSc in Computer Science or BASc in Computer/Software Engineering, Bootcamp certificate in software development, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in a software development role
• Strong web development skills (HTML, CSS)
• Work primarily with TypeScript, JavaScript, ES6, GraphQL, React, Docker, NodeJS and NextJS
• Experience with analyzing and optimizing page performance and load times
• Proficient in SQL Queries using MySql is Required.
• Proficient in optimizing and debugging code
• Experience with automated testing
• Have strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• Experience with Agile and Scrum process
• Familiarity with design patterns and programming principles and their applications
• Care about the quality of their work and the effect it has on the user experience
• Team player with strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
